Music Video Final Ideas

The Proclaimers (500 Miles)

As the final decision has been made to do a music video for The Proclaimers (500 Miles) me and my partner conducted a number of ideas together in which we presented to our class in our pitch.

Song chosen:

The Proclaimers "I'm Gonna Be" (500 Miles)

Name of "band":

Leth Aonan (Scottish term related to The Proclaimers as they were Scottish and twins. The term means 'Gemini' which also means 'Twins'.

Type of music video:

The video will be a Gag video with visual effects, it will be a very random video however some narrative will be put into it. (3 boys trying to get 1 girl into liking them - only one of them gets her in the end.)

Audience:

The audience that has been chosen for this music video is for a more teen generation, although The Proclaimers audience was aimed at the more older generation as it was in the 80's. We decided to change this purely because our idea concept relates more to the teen generation.

Genre:

The genre of The Proclaimers song (500 Miles) is Folk Pop/Celtic Rock. Alike artists to The Proclaimers would be the band Wet Wet Wet.

Mise-En-Scene:

Costume: The costumes going to be used in the music video are dresses for the boys and a suit like outfit for the girl.

Props: (transport) wheelchair, scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, uni-cycle etc. This is because it creates a humorous atmosphere for the viewers as the chorus for (500 Miles) is 'walk five hundred miles'. By using these different modes of transport it essentially shows irony.

Setting:

The setting will be in Bentley Priory and also a quiet country road.
